Aftercare

Your circumcision healing guide.

After your baby's circumcision, proper aftercare is essential for a smooth, comfortable recovery. This guide covers everything you need to know — from what to expect in the first hours to complete healing at two weeks. Your My Home Circumcision mohel personally walks every family through the healing process and stays connected by phone during care hours and through your secure portal during your baby's recovery.

Day-by-day recovery

The first 24 hours.

Immediately after the procedure, a light gauze dressing with the natural healing cream we provide is applied. Here's what to expect:

No Tylenol or pain medication is needed in most cases. Our mohels use a gentle, precision technique that minimizes discomfort.

Days 2–5

Active healing.

During this phase, you may notice:

Aftercare instructions: Apply the natural healing cream we provide to the area with each diaper change to prevent sticking. Keep the area clean with warm water — no soap, wipes, or alcohol.

Days 5–10

Continued recovery.

By now, most of the healing is well underway:

Continue applying the natural healing cream we provide until the area is fully healed.

Frequently asked questions

Common healing questions.

How long does full healing take?

Most babies are fully healed within 7–10 days. The area may continue to look slightly pink for up to 2 weeks.

Can I bathe my baby during healing?

Sponge baths are recommended for the first week. Once the area is healed, regular baths can resume.

Is the yellowish film an infection?

No. A thin yellowish or whitish film is a normal part of healing called granulation tissue. It is a positive sign.

Does my baby need pain medication?

In most cases, no. Our mohels' gentle technique causes minimal discomfort. If your baby seems unusually fussy, contact your mohel before giving any medication.

Ready to schedule?
